Have you ever been on the "sabse bada wala giant wheel"?

Not talking about the moving one, the STATIC one. Now picture yourself stuck at the topmost.

Felt something?

I felt the same way when I told my father I didn't want to continue with engineering. I'm sure a lot of you can relate. Obviously, not with the degree, but rather with the anxiety or dilemma you experience when changing courses.

Spoiler Alert: You'll find some humorous memes while reading my career shift blog:)

Let me give you the deets -

I was born in a small city in India. And, like every other confused Indian kid, I decided to pursue a career in engineering. Choosing a career is the most important decision a person makes in their life, but I was confused about mine. I interacted with many strangers during Covid (I mean the virtual world). I then learned about an entirely different world that exists. The World of Content writers and content strategists.

After a lot of research and watching YouTube videos, I finally found a course that gave me a clear understanding of content writing and content strategist. But I didn't stop there; I started looking for online internships. I received a few, worked there, learned more, and kept improving my skills. I once came across the adage, "Learn something new every day," and I have been living by it ever since. I never stop learning, whether it's about writing or something else. After a few months of working there, I realized there is a lot of potential, and I am enjoying it as well.

Believe me when I say that the kind of satisfaction you get from doing real work is priceless. Getting notified and earning a certificate will not get you anywhere. Those internships, as well as my habit of constantly upskilling myself, landed me a number of freelancing gigs.

But one question always arises: Was everything figured out from the beginning? Absolutely NOT. However, I made a lot of effort. Nowadays, gaining work experience is more important than anything else. I completed numerous internships, not to earn certificates but to gain practical experience and it helped me tremendously.

Trust me when I say that the course and the real world are entirely different. I was aware that the real world would present me with many challenges and I was ready for it. It’s actually fun. It not only gave me knowledge but also real work experience. Along with giving me confidence, it also aided me to network, make contacts, and find support. It helped me stay productive, challenged me, and gave me enough push to constantly improve.
